

Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, I was very fortunate to start my career combining my two loves, writing and travelling, when I joined an airline travel magazine. A couple of years later, I began working with a national newspaper, covering a great deal of the tourism industry among many other topics. Afterwards I became the Editor in Chief of a Latin-American trade publication and attended numerous trade shows, conferences and events held in almost every Spanish speaking country in Latin America, Europe, and many cities in the United States.
Throughout my career, my target audience is made up of Spanish speakers from around the world, so I developed one of the most valuable skills for an International Spanish Journalist and Communications Specialist; a “Universal” language. There are 21 countries that speak Spanish, and although we share a lot of commonalities, each region has language variations and different cultural and political backgrounds. Having an advanced Universal or neutral Spanish, combined with multicultural awareness, has been crucial to effectively communicate the intended message, and create engaging content that every single person receives and understands, no matter their origin.
Coming to Canada gave me the opportunity to apply those skills producing and hosting a weekly TV magazine for the Spanish speaking viewers of Canada, and by becoming the voice of our Hispanic community. Of course, one of my favourite topics was travel, so we featured many beautiful destinations of Western Canada and Mexico in the show.
Through the years I’ve worked on many exciting projects as a Spanish professional helping many companies and individuals with their communication needs. No matter in which capacity, I understand that mine is a customer service based role, therefore I always strive to build and maintain strong relationships rooted on great support, communication and trust. Acting as the face and voice for companies, TV shows and magazines, I’ve been devising strategies to grow brand awareness among clients, customers, viewers and readers, providing them with relevant content, support and guidance, while practicing the company’s vision and mission for the community.
